Bangkok: The Prime Minister called for a meeting to discuss plans to revitalize the economic zone and provide relief for flooding in the South. The meeting included discussions with key figures such as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Ekniti Nitithanpraphas, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office Paradorn Prisananantakul, and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Wutthikrai Leewiraphan. The focus was on economic recovery strategies and additional relief measures for flood victims in the South.
According to Thai News Agency, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul convened the meeting to deliberate on relief and assistance measures aimed at supporting flood victims in the southern region. The discussions centered on economic recovery for retailers who have been impacted by the flooding. The meeting followed the Prime Minister’s visit to Hat Yai District in Songkhla Province, where he engaged with local residents to hear their concerns and suggestions.
The government had previously implemented various relief measures and has announced plans to begin disbursing 9,000 baht in compensation to those affected by the floods. These payments are scheduled to commence next week, with further measures to be evaluated subsequently.
