Bangkok: The Prime Minister presided over the ceremony of offering royal tributes and the ceremony of lighting candles to offer blessings to His Majesty the King.
According to Thai News Agency, the Prime Minister and his wife, Mrs. Thanon Charnvirakul, presided over the ceremony marking Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 4th cycle birthday anniversary on June 3, 2026. The event was held at 8:00 PM at Sanam Luang, with participation from various dignitaries, including the President of the Parliament, the President of the Supreme Court, and other senior officials, along with military personnel, police officers, and the general public.
Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, noted the arrival of the Prime Minister and his wife at the venue, where they were joined by the Speaker of Parliament and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court in saluting the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. The ceremony included placing gold and silver flower arrangements, offering incense and candles, and lighting candles to offer blessings. The Prime Minister then delivered a royal address, expressing loyalty and gratitude on behalf of the Thai people for Her Majesty's compassion.
The Prime Minister highlighted His Majesty the King's continuous efforts in various royal duties, focusing on public health, social welfare, and vocational training. His Majesty's commitment to the well-being of his subjects and promotion of Thai culture, particularly through textiles and handicrafts, was also acknowledged. His Majesty's actions have showcased Thai wisdom on the international stage and bolstered his reputation among the people.
Concluding the ceremony, the Prime Minister led the attendees in offering blessings to His Majesty the King, wishing for his well-being and prosperity. The event concluded with the playing of the Royal Anthem, followed by participants, including the Prime Minister and his wife, singing praises for the King and chanting "Long Live the King" three times.
