Prime Minister Orders Swift Relief Efforts After School Shooting; Minister Paradorn Convenes Meeting on Relief Fund

Nonthaburi: The Prime Minister has ordered urgent relief efforts following the shooting at Thepsirin School in Nonthaburi. Meanwhile, Minister of Disaster Relief, Paradorn, is preparing to convene a meeting on the disaster relief fund immediately, with compensation of 1 million baht in the event of a death.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the student shooting at Thepsirin Bang Kruai School in Nonthaburi Province and ordered relevant agencies to provide urgent assistance and support.

Ms. Rachada stated that Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and Chairman of the Disaster Relief Fund Committee, is scheduled to hold a meeting this afternoon to consider disbursing compensation from the Disaster Relief Fund. The compensation will be based on previous incidents and will be as follows: 1,000,000 baht for fatalities, 700,000 baht for disabilities, 200,000 baht for serious injuries, and 100,000 baht for minor injuries.

Regarding assistance, the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection, Ministry of Justice, has already stepped in to provide help. The care will be provided in accordance with the Act on Compensation for Victims and Compensation and Expenses for Defendants in Criminal Cases.

'The government expresses its condolences to the families of those who died and those who were injured in the incident. We are coordinating assistance from all government agencies to provide comprehensive support in all aspects, as instructed by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul,' Ms. Rachada said.
