Bangkok: The Prime Minister participated in promoting the "Anandamahidol Day Pin 2026" under the concept "Care Beyond Cancer," inviting donations to help underprivileged patients and ailing monks.
According to Thai News Agency, prior to the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul participated in a promotional event for the 'Anandamahidol Day Pin 2026' under the theme 'Care Beyond Cancer.' Associate Professor Jirutt Sriratanaball, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, along with representatives from the Faculty of Medicine and the Student Club of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, presented the Prime Minister and Cabinet members with commemorative pins and Faculty of Medicine shirts to promote the project and encourage public donations to help underprivileged patients and ailing monks.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister contributed to the fundraising effort, listened to the objectives of the Ananda Mahidol Day pins, and stated that the working group would publicize the initiative through social media to encourage interested citizens to support underprivileged patients and ailing monks. Following this, the Prime Minister posed for photos with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, and medical students from Chulalongkorn University.
The Faculty of Medicine and the Student Club of the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, annually produce commemorative pins for Ananda Mahidol Day to honor His Majesty's boundless benevolence. This serves as an expression of gratitude and respect, as well as to publicize His Majesty's compassion and provide an opportunity for charitable donations.
Ananda Mahidol Day, observed annually on June 9th, commemorates the anniversary of the death of His Majesty King Ananda Mahidol, Rama VIII, who founded the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University. It is a deeply significant day for the Chulalongkorn medical community and the Thai people.
