Bangkok: The Prime Minister is preparing a workshop for governors and police commanders nationwide to strengthen efforts against drug trafficking, crime, and border security. The workshop is scheduled to commence tomorrow, with the Prime Minister chairing the event alongside governors and police commanders from all 76 provinces.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, announced that Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will preside over the opening ceremony. He will also deliver policy directives at the workshop, aimed at driving security operations in alignment with government policy. The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior and the Commissioner General of the Royal Thai Police will present the roles of their respective agencies in advancing security measures. Participants will include governors and provincial police commanders from all 76 provinces, as well as executives from Bangkok and Pattaya.
During the workshop, the Prime Minister will provide policy guidance and receive input from local agencies. The provincial governor will serve as the central mechanism, integrating efforts with the provincial police commander to enhance law enforcement, disseminate government information, and drive security initiatives to achieve tangible outcomes.
The workshop aims to gather opinions and suggestions to shape the operational direction, divided into four regional groups: Central, Northern, Northeastern, and Southern. Discussions will cover nine key topics: encroachment on public land, technological crimes, businesses using Thai people as disguised representatives, drugs, money laundering, influential persons, informal debt, tourist safety, and linking security databases.
