Provincial Waterworks Authority to Launch Water Bill Welfare Registration on July 20

Bangkok: "Jaset" has announced that the Provincial Waterworks Authority (PWA) is ready to open registration for the state welfare benefit for "water bills" on July 20. Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, Deputy Minister of Interior, emphasized the Ministry of Interior's dedication to improving the quality of life for citizens, particularly low-income earners and vulnerable groups, by ensuring equitable access to basic utilities. This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Interior's "Action 5 PLUS" policy and the government's effort to reduce the cost of living.

According to Thai News Agency, the Deputy Minister instructed the PWA to expedite the dissemination of information on eligibility, facilitate registration, and closely monitor service delivery to ensure that no eligible citizen misses out on government assistance measures. Tap water, as a fundamental public utility, is essential for life, and the government is committed to reducing costs for citizens while enhancing service quality. All PWA branches have been directed to prepare personnel, systems, and service channels to ensure citizens receive their entitlements quickly, conveniently, and comprehensively.

Mr. Chakpong Khamchan, Governor of the PWA, revealed that the agency is working to reduce water bill expenses through the 2026 State Welfare Registration Project. The government will provide a water subsidy of up to 100 baht per household per month to eligible welfare recipients. For bills exceeding 100 baht but not exceeding 315 baht, individuals will only pay the amount beyond the subsidy. For bills exceeding 315 baht, the full cost will be the responsibility of the individual. Each household is limited to one subsidy.

To utilize this water subsidy, all eligible individuals, both existing and new, must re-register to confirm their eligibility. Existing eligible persons can register between July 20-25, 2026, to receive the subsidy for the August 2026 billing cycle, which will be reflected in the September 2026 water bill. New eligible individuals can register from July 20 to September 25, 2026, to benefit from the October 2026 water bill cycle, with the subsidy appearing in the November 2026 bill. Retroactive claims are not permitted.

Registration can be completed online via the PWA website (www.pwa.co.th), the PWA Plus Life application, LINE Official Account: @PWAThailand, or through PWA branch officers nationwide. Citizens are encouraged to check their eligibility status through the channels designated by the Ministry of Finance, including the website https://welfare.mof.go.th, the 'Paotang' application, the 'Thang Rat' application, and registration units, before finalizing their registration to confirm their water bill welfare entitlement within the specified timeframe. This initiative represents a key government measure to alleviate the cost of living and sustainably enhance the quality of life for citizens.
