PTT Group Collaborates on Low-Carbon Ammonia Procurement for Power Plants

Bangkok: PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) has taken a significant step towards sustainable energy by partnering with Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) to explore the use of low-carbon ammonia as a co-fuel in power plants. Dr. Buranin Rattanasombat, Chief Operating Officer of the New Business and Sustainability Group at PTT, led the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding, with key figures including Mr. Worawat Pitayasiri, CEO of GPSC, and Mr. Rattakorn Kampanat Saenyagorn, Senior Executive Vice President for Corporate Sustainability at PTT.

According to Thai News Agency, the collaboration will assess the feasibility of introducing low-carbon ammonia into the GPSC Group’s power generation processes. The initiative aims to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by integrating innovative approaches to fuel mixing in power plants. The effort will leverage PTT Group’s extensive infrastructure to enhance energy security and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, aligning with Thailand’s sustainability goals on an international scale.
