Bangkok: People continue to pay their respects before the statue of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. Today marks the final day for the public to express their gratitude and sign the book of condolences at Sahathai Samakhom Hall in the Grand Palace, honoring her dedication to her subjects during times of disaster.
According to Thai News Agency, cabinet members, various individuals, and members of the public gathered to pay their respects before the portrait of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida. The public is also reminded that today is the last opportunity to do so at the Sahathai Samakhom Hall.
At the Sahathai Samakhom Pavilion, groups from government and private sectors, along with the public, paid their respects and signed the book of condolences. Representatives from the Meteorological Department, Suan Kularb Palace School, Members of Parliament, the Ministry of Commerce, the Bank of Thailand, and the Ministry of Energy were present. The Royal Palace has also set up a tent for signing condolences on the lawn next to the Sala Luk Khun building.
Following a 15-day mourning period for Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha, His Majesty the King has allowed the public to pay respects to her body at Phiman Rattaya Throne Hall daily from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, beginning Saturday, June 27, 2026.
Sanam Luang is witnessing a steady stream of people entering the screening points, with officials providing food and drinks donated by the royal family. Today, being the last day for signing the book of condolences, has seen a continuous influx of people from various provinces, with officials ensuring an orderly process.
Bangkok residents gathered to express loyalty and gratitude for His Majesty's kindness, recalling interactions with him and appreciating his initiatives in social development. One resident vividly remembered the royal fried rice they received, an unforgettable gesture of kindness.
Access to pay respects to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, will be suspended from June 13-19 at Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall and will resume on June 20, 2026. Visits to the Grand Palace and Wat Phra Sri Rattanasadaram will also be closed during this period.
