Bangkok: Myanmar soldiers detonated a bomb at KK Park in their ongoing crackdown on scammers. The blast damaged houses on the Thai side of the border. Meanwhile, a second Mae Sot border checkpoint has set up a special center to receive 1,597 foreigners who have fled across the border.
According to Thai News Agency, this morning’s image shows the Thai-Myanmar border after the Myanmar military surrounded and suppressed a scammer group in KK Park, a world-renowned hotspot for online scammers. The area is located along the Moei River in Myawaddy District, Karen State, Myanmar, opposite Mae Ku Mai Tha Sung Village, Mae Ku Subdistrict, Mae Sot District, Tak Province. Approximately 500 meters from the border, the explosion damaged the house of Mr. Nattawat, a nearby villager, and damaged the ceiling. Shrapnel from the blast also fell across the border into Thailand, in Village No. 6, Ban Don Chai, Mae Tao Subdistrict.
Recently, Burmese soldiers from the 444th Tactical Command, Area Control Division 2, and the 22nd Light Infantry Division of the Burmese Army, together with the Karen BGF forces, detonated explosives to destroy the structure yesterday evening.
At the second permanent Mae Sot border checkpoint in Ban Wang Takhian Tai, Tha Sai Luat subdistrict, Mae Sot district, a special center has been set up to receive foreigners who have fled across the border from KK Park. The total number of people currently in custody is increasing. There are now 1,597, of which 1,332 are male and 265 are female, representing 28 nationalities. The most nationalities are Indians with 465, Filipinos with 220, Chinese with 186, Vietnamese with 151, and Ethiopians with 130.
Latest report: On November 6th and 10th, the Indian Army will send a large military transport plane to pick up Indian nationals from Mae Sot International Airport to return them to their country. Three flights will be used, totaling two days, to complete the transfer.
