Pak Chom: Pak Chom Police Station, Loei Province, raided and intercepted a vehicle smuggling 2 million methamphetamine pills. The three suspects are from Prachuap Khiri Khan Province.
According to Thai News Agency, the operation occurred at approximately 3:00 a.m. today. Pak Chom Police Station, alongside the 2109th Ranger Company, the local government, and the 246th Border Patrol Police, set up a checkpoint to intercept drug smuggling into Thailand on the border of Loei Province, along the Chiang Khan-Nong Khai Road, also known as Highway No. 210, or the Spider Web checkpoint. A suspicious car was identified driving from Chiang Khan District towards Pak Chom District. Before reaching the checkpoint, the vehicle abruptly stopped and turned back, prompting a chase that ended at the Ban Hat Bia checkpoint, Pak Chom Subdistrict.
The authorities discovered three suspects in the car: Mr. Piwat, 40, Mr. Trithawuth, 32, and Ms. Chayanit, 31. All three individuals are residents of Ron Thong Subdistrict, Bang Saphan District, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Upon searching the black and white car with a Ratchaburi license plate, the police found seven sacks containing a total of two million methamphetamine pills. Following the arrest, the commanding officer ordered an expansion of the investigation to identify the gang members and the source of the methamphetamine pills, with the aim of pursuing further prosecution.
