Rainy Corporation Requests DSI to Lift Freeze on 31 Bank Accounts

Bangkok: Submitting a petition to the DSI to prove the truth, clarifying that he is not involved in Forex trading, and requesting the lifting of the account freeze. "Rainy Corporation Limited" submitted a letter to the DSI confirming no involvement in the Forex market, requesting the lifting of the freeze on 31 accounts, and vowing to continue proving the truth.

According to Thai News Agency, a legal team representing Rainey Corporation Co., Ltd. traveled to the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) to submit a letter to the DSI Secretariat requesting consideration for the lifting of the freeze on the bank accounts of the company's clients in order to mitigate the business impact. The letter stated the following: As reported in the media, the DSI has conducted searches of numerous companies and individuals to investigate unusual money flow within the system, linked to an unlicensed Forex trading business. Many victims have complained of being deceived into investing through brokers, including investment advisors. Furthermore, connections have been found to two payment gateway companies suspected of being key channels for this illicit money flow.

Rainy Corporation Co., Ltd. is one of the companies affected by the aforementioned actions. We would like to clarify the facts: The company is a legal entity registered in 2017 with a registered capital of 50 million baht, registration number 0105560186715. It operates a payment gateway service business, having received a valid license from the Ministry of Finance on April 14, 2020, and conducts its operations in accordance with the Payment System Act B.E. 2560 (2017). Furthermore, the company has consistently paid corporate income tax in accordance with the law.

The company, acting as a payment processing service provider, serves numerous businesses and corporations. The company's role is solely to fulfill its contractual obligations regarding the receipt and disbursement of funds as per client wishes. The company confirms that it had no knowledge of or involvement in any business activities that led to the transfer of funds from clients. Furthermore, the Department of Special Investigation's raid on the company resulted in the freezing of 31 bank accounts, which were used by brokers to facilitate client trading. This has impacted the company, causing business disruption and financial losses due to the inability to access the funds. The company reiterates that all funds belong to clients and that no money has been withdrawn from the system.

The company therefore submitted a letter to the Department of Special Investigation today requesting the lifting of the account freeze so that business can continue as normal without affecting customers using its services. The company is ready to cooperate with the investigation and provide all necessary information to the authorities for the benefit of the case, including cooperating with the investigation specifically regarding the funds of the victims (who are alleged to have been defrauded). The company hopes that the Department of Special Investigation will consider lifting the account freeze urgently to resolve the hardship and prevent further impact on the transactions of the company's customers.
