Bangkok:Mr. Rangsiman Rome, a Member of Parliament from the People's Party, has announced his intention to summon Sophon for an explanation before the House Committee on Legal Affairs. This summons is in response to an order that has reportedly curtailed the committee's powers.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Rome, who serves as the Chairman of the House of Representatives' Committee on Law, Justice, and Human Rights, posted on Facebook about the ongoing debates concerning the legal status of the committee's operational guidelines.
In a recent meeting, the Law Committee resolved, with a vote of 8-0, not to accept the proposed guidelines. Furthermore, the committee has decided to invite the Speaker of the House of Representatives to provide an explanation at their next meeting.
