Ratchada Leads Government Spokesperson Team in Merit-Making Ceremony for Public Well-Being

Bangkok: "Ratchada" led the government spokesperson team in a merit-making ceremony at the government press center, wishing the public happiness, good news, and accurate information. According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Rachada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, presided over the ceremony and offered food to monks for auspiciousness. She was joined by Deputy Spokespersons of the Prime Minister's Office, including Ms. Lalida Peritwiwatana, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, and Captain Patthadarasmi Thongsalooykorn, along with Ms. Nicha Hirunburana Thuvatham, Advisor to the Prime Minister for Civil Servants, executives from the Prime Minister's Secretariat, staff from the Spokesperson's Office, and members of the press at Government House.

At the start of the Buddhist ceremony, the Prime Minister's spokesperson lit incense and candles to pay homage to the Triple Gem. Five monks chanted Buddhist prayers. The government spokesperson's team offered food and traditional Thai offerings to the monks. The monks sprinkled holy water for blessings, thus concluding the ceremony.

The purpose of this religious ceremony at the Government Press Center was to bring good fortune, boost morale among government communications personnel, and strengthen the good relationship between the Spokesperson's Office staff and the media stationed at Government House, all of whom play a crucial role in providing useful information to the public.

Ms. Rachada stated that government communication is not just about transmitting information, but about building understanding and trust among the public. She prayed that the public would be happy, receive accurate and useful information, and that fake news would decrease.

Following the ceremony, the government spokespersons will participate in a media relations event to meet, discuss, exchange ideas, and strengthen cooperation with reporters covering Government House. This is in line with the shared intention of working together to communicate accurate, timely, and useful information to the public.

The Government Press Center, located in the Nareesamosorn Building at Government House, was originally named "Phra Khan Building" and was part of the Norsing House before becoming Government House. It has served as the central hub for government press briefings since the time of General Chatchai Choonhavan, disseminating information, news, cabinet meeting results, government policies, and operational results to the media and the public.
