Bangkok: Rebin Zulaka, a former defender for the Iraqi national team currently playing for Port FC, has declared his retirement from international football. This announcement marks the end of an 11-year career representing Iraq on the global stage. According to Thai News Agency, Zulaka decided to retire following his participation in the 2026 World Cup. In the tournament, he was substituted into the match against France at the 60-minute mark and started in the game against Senegal. However, his World Cup journey was cut short when he received a red card only 10 minutes into the match against Senegal for a foul on Sadio Mané. Zulaka's international career, spanning over a decade, saw him become a central figure in Iraq's defense. His decision to step down comes after fulfilling his commitment to represent his country in the latest World Cup.
