Repeat! Last day to register for NBTC SIM cards: 13 July 2024

Bangkok, NBTC emphasizes July 13, 67 is the last day to register SIM cards, verify identity to maintain usage rights for those who register to use SIM cards from 6 numbers or more per network. Please expedite the process before the signal is suspended. Mr. Trirat Viriyasirikul, Deputy Secretary-General and Acting Secretary-General of the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission, revealed that today (July 13, 2024) will be the deadline for identity verification for those who have registered 6-100 SIM cards to stop the use of mobile phone services to commit or support illegal acts (mule accounts). The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) is asking for cooperation from people who have registered 6-100 SIM cards per camp to verify their identity with their mobile phone service providers through the channels specified by each camp. If the deadline is exceeded, the number will be suspended and unable to make calls, send SMS messages, or use the internet. According to ser vice providers, as of June 30, 2024, a total of 1,635,407 users have verified their identities and active numbers, out of 3,981,251 numbers that need to be verified. The remaining 2.3 million numbers must verify their identities by July 13, 2024, or else they will be suspended. However, even if their services are suspended, if they verify their identities, they will be able to use the services continuously. For details on SIM card registration identity verification, the NBTC has issued an announcement requiring the verification of service users into 2 groups: 1) SIM card registration group of 6-100 numbers and 2) SIM card registration group of 101 numbers or more. For the group of SIM card registration group of 101 numbers or more whose identity verification was due on February 14, 2024, there are currently 3,914,057 users who have verified their identity, out of the 5,078,283 numbers that are required to verify their identity.
