Royal Decree Appoints New “Anutin 2” Cabinet in Thailand

Bangkok: A royal decree has been issued appointing the "Anutin 2" cabinet. Ekanat is appointed Minister of Energy, Pipat is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Ekniti is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Supajee is Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce.

According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Gazette website published the decree, which was issued by His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklao Chao Khun. This follows the appointment of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul as Prime Minister on March 19, 2026. The decree outlines the selection of individuals to fill various ministerial roles essential for the country's administration.

The appointed ministers include Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport, Mr. Songsak Thongsri as Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Ekniti Nitithanpraphas as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. Additionally, Ms. Supajee Suthamphan assumes the role of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce, while Mr. Pakorn Nilapraphan and Mr. Yotsanun Wongsawat take on roles as Deputy Prime Ministers.

Other key appointments feature Ms. Supamas Isarabhakdi, Mr. Napinthon Srisarppang, Mr. Paradorn Prisnanantakul, and Ms. Sukhsomruay Wantaniyakul as Ministers attached to the Prime Minister's Office. Lieutenant General Adul Boonthamcharoen has been named Minister of Defence, with Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul as Minister of Tourism and Sports, and Mr. Nikorn Somklang as Minister of Social Development and Human Security.

The list continues with Mr. Suriya Jungrungreangkit as Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, supported by Deputy Ministers Mr. Watcharapol Khaokham and Ms. Piyarat Tiyapairat. The transport sector sees the addition of Deputy Ministers Mr. Siripong Angkasakulkiat, Mr. Phatarapong Phatprasit, and Mr. Sanphet Bunyamanee. In digital affairs, Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob becomes Minister of Digital Economy and Society, with Ms. Nan Bunthida Somchai as Deputy Minister.

Environmental responsibilities are assigned to Mr. Suchart Chomklin as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, while Mr. Ekanat Promphan assumes the role of Minister of Energy. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul will serve as Minister of Interior, alongside Deputy Ministers General Peerapong Suwannachawi, Mr. Jetseth Thaiseth, and Mr. Worasit Liengprasit.

The justice ministry is led by Police Lieutenant General Ruudhpol Nawarat, with Mr. Chulaphan Amornvivat as Minister of Labour and Ms. Sabida Thaiseth as Minister of Culture. Education is headed by Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, supported by Deputy Minister Mr. Akranan Kankittinan. Health and industry sectors are overseen by Mr. Phatthana Phromphat, Minister of Public Health, and Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Industry, respectively.

The decree is effective from March 30, 2026, marking the 11th year of the current reign, and is countersigned by Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul.
