According to Thai News Agency, Major General Korakod Phuchote, Deputy Commander of the 4th Army Area and Deputy Director of the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward, presided over the royal burial ceremony for volunteer ranger Zakariya Cheh-na. Commanders, family members, relatives, religious leaders, government officials, military personnel, and local residents attended the ceremony to express their condolences.
Following the incident on July 22, 2026, when violent insurgents used firearms and improvised pipe bombs to attack officers at the Bukeh Sami checkpoint in Ra-ngae District, Narathiwat Province, resulting in the death of volunteer ranger Zakariya Cheh-na while on duty, Major General Korakod presided over the royal burial ceremony. The ceremony included placing a floral offering and royal soil over the grave, paying respects before a portrait of His Majesty the King, amidst the playing of eulogies and other patriotic songs to honor the deceased who sacrificed his life in the line of duty.
