Bangkok: The Royal Thai Army is inviting Thai men to apply for the "Online Soldier" project for the year 2026, with the first selection process beginning on November 15. More than 19,000 applicants have already applied.
According to Thai News Agency, the Royal Thai Army is offering an innovative approach to military conscription by allowing Thai men to apply through an online application system for the year 2026. This initiative is designed to facilitate a convenient, quick, and transparent process for those interested in volunteering for military service. Eligible applicants include Thai men aged 18-20 years, or 22-29 years, who have completed the military draft but have not yet enlisted. Applications can be submitted online via the website or in person at one of the 756 military units or conscription offices nationwide until January 25, 2026.
Applicants have the flexibility to choose their preferred unit from 756 available options across the country, as well as the date and location for their selection from 78 designated sites. This flexibility allows applicants to select a different province than the unit they wish to join. As of November 13, 2025, the Royal Thai Army has received 19,091 applications for this program.
Applicants who have already registered for the "Online Soldiers" project are encouraged to prepare for the conscription selection process, which will take place on the following dates and times: November 15, 2025, December 13, 2025, January 24, 2026, and January 25, 2026. The selection process will occur from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on each of these days.
To ensure a smooth selection process, applicants must prepare all necessary documents, including national identification cards, copies of their own and their parents' house registrations, birth certificates (if applicable), name change documents (if applicable), Form Sor Dor 9 for those not yet registered for military service, and Sor Dor 43 certificates for those who have passed the selection but have not yet entered active duty.
On the day of selection, applicants will undergo a review of supporting documents, a qualification check, a physical health examination, and a psychiatric assessment to ensure they meet the Army's criteria for readiness.
