Palian: A 20-year-old man has ingeniously transformed the salty land in front of his house, spanning 17 rai, into a novel tourist attraction, marking it as the largest landmark in Palian District, Trang Province. Despite its recent opening, this destination has been drawing significant crowds, generating tens of thousands of baht in daily income.
According to Thai News Agency, the attraction, named Ban Rai Yong Star, is situated in Village 2, Tha Kham Subdistrict, Palian District, Trang Province. The visionary behind this transformation is Mr. Phetthae Luedang, also known as Nong Phet, a young student who converted the saline soil, traditionally unsuitable for farming, into a vibrant tourist destination. With financial backing from his family, who invested over 9 million baht, the area now boasts a colorful artificial grass field, complemented by a surrounding canal for kayaking. Visitors are also treated to over 20 photo spots and activities, including artificial snow and a unique sea boxing ring where both children and adults can engage in boxing within water depths of 60-80 centimeters.
Moreover, the site features a cafe zone offering nutritious food and beverages crafted from colorful produce such as avocado, pineapple, lime, beetroot, Koh Suk watermelon, and butterfly pea. These ingredients are used to create healthy drinks, some creatively named after local islands, aiming to boost the recognition of Ban Rai Yong Star. Previously, Palian District had few tourist attractions due to its distance from Trang city, nearly 50 kilometers away. However, since the attraction’s opening at the end of 2024, it has successfully drawn numerous visitors, significantly boosting the area’s tourism profile.
