Udon Thani: Sarawut Petchpanomporn from the Pheu Thai Party has announced his victory in the election for the presidency of the Udon Thani Provincial Administrative Organization, expressing gratitude for the trust placed in him. The announcement was made at the Pheu Thai Party office located in Muang Udon Thani District, where a gathering of Udon Thani MPs and party members was present to support the electoral process. According to Thai News Agency, the election campaign received a significant boost with the involvement of former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, who served as a campaign assistant, urging supporters to ensure the party's victory. This added a sense of urgency and excitement to the election, described as a battle of dignity by those involved. The election results were announced at 10:34 p.m. following the completion of vote counting across 2,243 units, indicating a 100 percent count. Mr. Sarawut Petchpanomporn, representing the Pheu Thai Party, emerged victorious with 327,487 votes. His com petitors, Mr. Kanisorn Khurirang of the Prachachon Party and independent candidate Mr. Danuch Tanterdthit, secured 268,675 and 17,224 votes, respectively. Deputy Prime Minister Prasert Chantaruangthong, a leader within the Pheu Thai Party, along with Sarawut Petchpanomporn, celebrated the victory by raising their hands in triumph. Mr. Prasert highlighted the significance of the results, indicating the Pheu Thai Party's strong standing in retaining positions within the provincial administrative organization. He credited former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra's speeches for their impactful support, reinforcing the enduring bond between Thaksin and the people of Udon Thani. Mr. Sarawut conveyed his appreciation to the people of Udon Thani, thanking them for their trust and support in allowing him to serve and work for the community.
