SAT continues to promote soft power, organizing a Thai boxing roadshow in China

The Sports Authority of Thailand continues to promote soft power by organizing a Muay Thai roadshow in China, bringing in famous Muay Thai boxers from the past and present to teach master classes to those interested. On September 14, 2024, in Beijing, People's Republic of China, the Subcommittee on Driving the Sports Industry, together with the Office of the Boxing Commission, Sports Authority of Thailand, organized the "Master Class Road Show Muay Thai Soft Power" event, with Mr. Preecha Lalun, Deputy Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand for Professional Sports and Boxing, Mr. Tanukiat Janchum, Advisor to the Governor of the Sports Authority of Thailand, along with Mr. Paitoon Chutimakorn, President of the Sports Photographers Association of Thailand, former advisor to the Prime Minister, and Mr. Palat Suwannamethakorn, Director of the Office of the Boxing Commission, jointly presided over the opening ceremony. For the event 'Master Class Road Show Muay Thai Soft Power', the objective is to respon d to the government's policy to use Muay Thai as a tool to spread culture and stimulate the country's economy by promoting the organization of Muay Thai competitions, establishing an international Muay Thai institute, and upgrading boxing camps to have standards and business capabilities to support foreigners who are interested in Muay Thai for tourism and competition, and to spread the art of Muay Thai and Thai culture to foreigners through activities teaching Muay Thai techniques from Muay Thai boxers and trainers, with a booth for Business Matching activities between Muay Thai camps and China. Organized a Muay Thai clinic for 300 people, with Thailand's top boxing superstars, both past and present, led by former WBC world champion Samart Payakaroon, 1996 Olympic gold medalist Somrak Khamsing, and ONE World Champion Petchmorakot PK Saenchai Muay Thai Gym as speakers. Arrange an orientation for participants in the National Labor Skill Standards Test, Muay Thai Coach Branch, test the knowledge (written) of the National Labor Skill Standards, Muay Thai Coach Branch, 21 people, show Muay Thai dance moves, Organize a Muay Thai fashion show by designers from Thailand and China to allow participants to further understand Thai culture. This is part of the government's policy to create soft power in the country.
