Bangkok: Authorities have mobilized an extensive search operation to locate two Russian siblings who mysteriously disappeared from their home in Huai Yai Subdistrict, Bang Lamung District, Chonburi Province. Diana Nazimova, 22, and Roman Nazimova, 17, vanished in the early hours of July 26th, along with their Honda ADV 150 motorcycle, which has since been discovered disassembled and buried in an old cemetery.
According to Thai News Agency, villagers alerted police after observing four suspicious individuals carrying digging equipment into a forested area. Upon investigation, authorities discovered a recently filled hole containing the buried motorcycle, but the siblings remain missing. Law enforcement is intensifying the search, focusing on areas where locals reported hearing gunshots and detecting suspicious odors.
The Pattaya Tourist Police, along with other officers, conducted comprehensive searches in dense forests, abandoned factories, and cattle yards. Although no trace of the siblings or illegal items was found, authorities discovered an old mattress, a jar of Vaseline, shoes, and several sets of old clothing scattered in the area. Further inspection of a charcoal kiln in the forest yielded no new leads.
The investigation took a turn with the emergence of CCTV footage showing two suspects, Mr. Pong and Mr. Thong, riding a motorcycle on the Chak Ngaew-Wat Yanasangwararam route on the day of the siblings' disappearance. The footage suggests they left Mr. Thong's sister's house after showering and changing clothes, before returning to their residence in Huai Yai Subdistrict.
A news team visited a nearby house where they encountered a 74-year-old woman, the aunt of Mr. Pong. She recounted that Mr. Pong, who was recently released from prison, left her house abruptly on July 27th, claiming he needed to visit a sick child in Chanthaburi. The aunt expressed concerns about her nephew's violent tendencies and urged him to surrender if involved in the crime.
As the search continues, police, local officials, and villagers plan to gather in a dense forest near Wat Yan Sangwararam, a suspected location where the siblings might have been taken. Meanwhile, the wife of Mr. Thong, another suspect, stated she has not seen her husband since December 27th of the previous year. Mysteriously, several villagers reported hearing Mr. Thong calling for help on July 29th, 2026, leading police to suspect he might have been murdered to prevent him from revealing information.
The authorities are committed to resolving this case and ensuring the safety of the missing siblings, as the investigation unfolds with growing complexity.
