Bangkok: The Permanent Secretary of the Prime Minister's Office inaugurated a seminar titled "Creating Thai Society with Our Hands," part of the third iteration of the "Children Show (Do) Good" project. This initiative aims to foster knowledge, unity, and a sense of Thai identity among children and youth, enhancing their ability to create valuable media that benefits the nation.
According to Thai News Agency, Mrs. Yupha Thaweewattanakitborworn, Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister's Office, led the opening ceremony at The Twin Towers Hotel in Bangkok. The event was attended by key figures such as Mr. Phumint Plangsombat, Special Expert of the Prime Minister's Office, and Mr. Chaiyaphruek Sereerak, Chairman of the project's Selection Subcommittee, among other dignitaries and relevant personnel.
Ms. Yupha emphasized the importance of instilling knowledge and a sense of identity in young people, encouraging them to learn through research and storytelling. The seminar provides a platform for youth to enhance their media creation skills, with guidance from experts, including speakers from Rangsit University. She highlighted the need for youth to become creators of safe and effective media in the age of AI, stressing the role of technology integrated with meaningful content.
The Permanent Secretary also mentioned future plans to increase the project's intensity and seek partnerships to fund the creation of quality media. Emphasizing the need for positive media, Ms. Yupha called on society to contribute to the project, encouraging youth to develop projects that benefit the community.
Reporters noted that the "Good Deeds" project, organized by the National Identity Committee of the Office of the Permanent Secretary to the Prime Minister, aims to develop Thai youth as valuable resources for the country's future. The project focuses on cultivating both learning ability and morality, promoting public good over personal interests. It offers children aged 15-18 opportunities to express their ideas, develop potential, and learn teamwork through practical engagement with community members.
Out of 656 teams that applied, 120 were selected for the seminar. These teams will participate in workshops and other activities, culminating in project proposals. Fifty teams will receive funding to implement their projects, with outstanding achievements recognized in the 2026 Thai Model Youth Award.
Support for the project comes from various sectors, including government agencies, private companies such as the BJC Group, Big C, and educational institutions like Rangsit University, ensuring the project's success in achieving its objectives.
