Senate Approves Chakraphong Wiwatwanich as Constitutional Court Judge

Bangkok: The Senate has approved the appointment of Chakraphong Wiwatwanich as a Constitutional Court judge. The decision came after a Senate meeting where Chakrapong Vivatvanich was nominated for the position.

According to Thai News Agency, the Senate confirmed Professor Chakrapong Vivatvanich's nomination to the Constitutional Court with a vote count of 140 in favor, 17 against, and 22 abstentions. The voting results demonstrated that Professor Chakrapong Vivatvanich received the necessary majority, requiring at least half of the total Senate members, which is 100 votes or more.

Therefore, with the Senate's approval, Chakrapong Vivatvanich is set to assume the role of a Constitutional Court judge, following the successful nomination and majority vote.
