Bangkok: "Seripisut" is preparing to file a complaint with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and the Election Commission (EC) against Anutin and Chaijanok regarding the Khao Kradong issue, citing criminal and ethical violations. He plans to gather further evidence in Buriram to reclaim more than 5,000 rai of state land.
According to Thai News Agency, Police General Seri Phisut Temiyaves, MP of the Seri Ruam Thai Party, held a press conference detailing the ethics violations involving Mr. Chaiyanok Chidchob and Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul. The matter is being divided into two parts: criminal prosecution through the NACC, and an ethics evaluation via the EC to determine their qualifications as ministers and MPs under Constitutional Articles 160 and 170.
Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth highlighted difficulties in gathering opposition support to submit the petition directly to the Constitutional Court. Only Dr. Warong Dechgitvigrom signed in support. Consequently, the complaint will be submitted through the EC. He emphasized the thorough preparation of documents, akin to an investigation file, to ensure clarity and avoid further court burden.
The complaint with the NACC accuses Mr. Anutin and others of malfeasance under the Criminal Code, land encroachment, and corruption under the Anti-Corruption Act of 2018. The allegations involve failing to revoke land titles in Khao Kradong, despite court rulings affirming the land belongs to the State Railway of Thailand.
Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth explained that land title revocations began after the final judgment, but stalled with a change in Land Department leadership. He stressed the importance of returning occupied land, particularly areas hosting a football stadium and racetrack, to the state.
Regarding Mr. Chaiyanok, although lacking direct authority over land title revocations, his involvement in land plots and business operations in the area could render him liable for trespassing. Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth believes those involved should respect court judgments and cease operations.
Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth confirmed adherence to NACC authority under Article 234 of the Constitution and the Anti-Corruption Act. He will formally submit the case to the NACC to initiate legal proceedings.
The People's Party refused to support the ethics complaint, seeking to limit the power of independent organizations. However, Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth maintained the case's importance in addressing integrity and ethical standards breaches.
Pol. Gen. Seri Phisut questioned the reluctance of opposition parties to sign the petition, stressing the public interest at stake. He reiterated that his actions aim to protect state assets, not for personal gain, and highlighted the potential revenue from properly managed state land.
Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth acknowledged potential challenges with the EC route but emphasized the clarity of evidence from court rulings. He warned that prolonged delays by the EC could suggest bias towards the accused.
After involving independent organizations, Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth plans to visit Buriram to gather additional evidence on Khao Kradong land ownership. He intends to engage directly with those involved, reaffirming the land's status as state property.
Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth urged those implicated to accept legal consequences, citing past politicians who did so and received commendation. He assured that the Seri Ruam Thai Party, though small, will persist in addressing public interest issues.
Once his Buriram visit is scheduled, Pol. Gen. Sereepisuth will inform the media to observe his activities and actions.
