Bangkok:Siam Park is set to move forward with its operations and is expected to reopen no later than December. The park has already reopened its scout camp area, with repair work on the rides still underway.
According to Thai News Agency, more than ten interested parties have contacted Siam Park regarding the purchase of its land, valued at tens of billions of baht. However, no agreement has been reached yet. Mr. Wutthichai Lueangamornlert, Managing Director of Siam Park City Co., Ltd., explained that the decision to consider a sale arose after recent floods caused damage to previously unaffected areas. He noted that despite the consideration of a sale, the park's success is driven by passion and a desire to cater to a diverse clientele, not just profit.
Mr. Wutthichai emphasized the park's appeal to multi-generational families, which distinguishes it from other tourist attractions. He mentioned that while full reopening at 100% capacity might take around six months, the scout camp has already reopened, and repairs on the rides are expected to be completed by December.
He also highlighted the need for government support in regulating import taxes on amusement park equipment and providing specialized bank loans to support the industry. Additionally, he advocated for measures to stimulate domestic tourism beyond hotels and restaurants, including man-made attractions like amusement parks.
