Bangkok: The SME Bank has announced immediate relief measures to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) impacted by recent floods, including a suspension of fee and installment payments aimed at aiding business recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sitthikorn Direksunthon, Director and General Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise Credit Guarantee Corporation (TCG), highlighted the severe impact of flooding across various regions in Thailand on individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs. In response, the SME Bank has introduced urgent measures to assist its customers and affected debtors whose claims have been settled, allowing them to continue their business operations.
The relief measures specifically target SMEs located in provinces identified by the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) as flood-affected. As of November 14, 2025, these provinces include Phitsanulok, Nakhon Sawan, Sukhothai, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Chainat, Ang Thong, Suphan Buri, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, and Ubon Ratchathani. The measures are categorized into two main groups:
1. Customer Assistance Measures: This involves deferring loan guarantee and management fees for an additional six months from the due date for SMEs whose loans are backed by the SME Bank. This applies to payments scheduled between November 14, 2025, and December 15, 2025.
2. Debtor Assistance Measures: A six-month payment suspension is available for debtors with claims already paid by the SME Bank, who are currently adhering to debt restructuring plans and are not in default. Applications for this relief can be submitted from November 14, 2025, to December 15, 2025.
Beyond these assistance measures, the SME Bank is actively monitoring the situation and its repercussions on affected areas. The bank has instructed its district offices responsible for flood-hit regions to accelerate communication and promote these relief measures to SME Bank customers and debtors. Additional support measures are also being provided.
SME entrepreneurs, customers, and debtors in flood-affected areas can register for the relief program via the TCG First LINE OA: @tcgfirst by December 15, 2025.
