Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization Deploys Drones for Waste Management at Koh Taew Landfill

Songkhla: The Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization has initiated drone operations to spray deodorizing agents, disinfectants, and insecticides at the Koh Taew Subdistrict Municipality landfill. This effort is aimed at managing the flood-damaged waste that has accumulated in the area.

According to Thai News Agency, the influx of flood-related waste from Hat Yai District is being moved from a temporary waste storage area within Hat Yai Municipality to the Koh Taew Subdistrict Municipality landfill. This site serves as a disposal location for the post-flood urban regeneration project in Hat Yai and nearby regions. The significant amount of waste has raised concerns over its impact on public health and the environment.

To address these concerns, the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization, through its Public Health Division, took action yesterday by deploying a team to spray deodorizing, disinfecting, and insecticidal solutions. The operation utilized drones to access hard-to-reach areas while surface areas were sprayed on foot. The drone operations were particularly focused on the newly transported waste to enhance odor reduction and promote decomposition.
