Bangkok: "Sophon" led the House of Representatives in holding a religious ceremony to commemorate the 15th day since the passing of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha. Mr. Sophon Saram, President of the Parliament and Speaker of the House of Representatives, led the executives, officials, and personnel of the Secretariat of the House of Representatives in attending the ceremony.
According to Thai News Agency, the event took place at the House of Representatives' reception room in the Parliament building. Mr. Sophon Saram, along with the Secretary-General, Deputy Secretaries-General, executives, directors, supervisors, and personnel from the Office of the House of Representatives, attended the ceremony to honor the memory of Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendira Debyavadi, Krom Luang Rajasarinisiripatchara Mahavajrarajathida.
Before the ceremony commenced, the Speaker of Parliament inspected the arrangements and engaged in discussions with executives and officials. The discussions centered around the Four Sublime States of Mind (Brahma Vihara 4) and their application in daily life, both personally and professionally.
During the ceremony, the Speaker of Parliament offered breakfast to ten monks of high ecclesiastical rank from Wat Saket Ratchaworamahaviharn. The monks proceeded with chanting Buddhist prayers, after which gifts were offered to them by the presiding officer and attendees. The monks performed the funeral rites, followed by a minute of silent meditation led by the presiding monk to dedicate merit to the deceased. The ceremony concluded with the ten monks offering their blessings, and the presiding officer symbolically pouring water to receive these blessings. The attendees then paid respects before the Buddha image and bid farewell to the monks.
