Sports Fund Awards 70 Million Baht in Scholarships to Athletes

Bangkok: The Sports Fund has allocated 70 million baht in scholarships to support athletes, announced the National Sports Development Fund. The Minister of Tourism and Sports disclosed plans to increase the budget to 100 million baht for the following year.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, led the orientation and scholarship signing ceremony for athletes and sports personnel for the fiscal year 2026. The event was attended by Mr. Preecha Lalun, Deputy Governor for Elite Sports and Sports Science, Sports Authority of Thailand, and Mr. Tanukiat Chanchum, Manager of the National Sports Development Fund. Scholarships were distributed to athletes and sports personnel during the ceremony.

A total of 1,038 scholarship recipients were awarded 70 million baht for the year 2026. The Minister of Tourism and Sports shared that the government plans to expand the scholarship fund to 100 million baht next year to ensure continued support for athletes and personnel.
