‘Suhring’ Receives 3 Michelin Stars, Joins ‘Sorn’ as Thailand’s Culinary Elite

Bangkok: ‘Suhring’ has earned the prestigious distinction of three Michelin stars, becoming only the second restaurant in Thailand to achieve this honor, alongside ‘Sorn’. Meanwhile, the renowned street food eatery ‘Jay Fai’ has proudly retained its one Michelin star for the ninth consecutive year.

According to Thai News Agency, the announcement was made by Mr. Gwendal Poullennec, Director of the MICHELIN Guide Worldwide, and Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). The results were part of the “MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2026,” now in its ninth edition, underscoring Thailand’s reputation as a premier destination for those seeking diverse and unique culinary experiences.

The guide revealed that two restaurants received the coveted ‘3 Michelin Stars’. ‘Sorn’ was the first to achieve this milestone, and now ‘Suhring’, founded by twin chefs Thomas and Matthias Suhring, has joined the ranks, celebrated for its contemporary German cuisine.

Moreover, eight restaurants were awarded ‘2 Michelin Stars’, with two being promoted from one star. These include ‘Ban Thepha’, ‘Chef’s Table’, ‘Coat by Mauro Colagreco’, ‘kettle’, ‘Mezzaluna’, ‘food’, and newcomers ‘Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandy’ and ‘Indie’. ‘Anne-Sophie Pic at Le Normandie’ showcases a French-Japanese fusion by Chef Anne-Sophie Pic and Chef Tamaki Kobayashi, while ‘Indie’ offers a modern Indian culinary experience.

The ‘1 Michelin Star’ category saw 28 restaurants recognized, including seven new entrants or promotions. Among them, ‘Bo.lan’, ‘Cannubi by Humberto Bombana’, ‘Etcha’, ‘Gagan’, ‘Juksoonchae’, ‘Nusara’, and ‘Sushi Saito’ have made their debut in this prestigious list.

Notably, ‘Jay Fai’, celebrated worldwide as the only street food restaurant with a Michelin star, has maintained its accolade for nine years. Despite any challenges, ‘Jay Fai’ continues to deliver culinary excellence, cementing its status in the global food scene.
