Bangkok: "Suksomruay" is preparing to fly to Amnat Charoen to file a defamation lawsuit against "Yingcheep iLaw" after he alleged her involvement in a Senate collusion case. She believes it's a political game, arguing that if there were any truth to the allegations, the Election Commission would have summoned her for questioning long ago. She also stated that she knows nothing about the resort mentioned and insists the offense has already been committed, even though the other party confessed on a TV program that there was no evidence or photographs, only witness statements.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Suksomruay Wanthaniyakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office and MP for Amnat Charoen from the Bhumjaithai Party, commented on the allegations made by Mr. Yingcheep Atchanon, Director of the Internet for People's Law Project (iLaw), that nine individuals from the Bhumjaithai Party were involved in a Senate collusion case, with Ms. Suksomruay's name included. She stated that she would let the Election Commission and its legal team handle the matter, believing a conclusion would be reached soon. She also expressed her belief that it was a political game. She said she was unaware of the allegations, as she had previously received letters regarding the 26th Senate Committee, which she had denied. Furthermore, the allegations did not provide specific details, and she was not even familiar with the resort mentioned by Mr. Yingcheep. Therefore, she believes that if there were any merit to the allegations, the Election Commission and its legal team would have summoned her for questioning. However, she noted that her name has only appeared in the allegations, and she has never been called in for questioning.
Ms. Suksomruay also stated that she will file a defamation lawsuit against Mr. Yingcheep in Amnat Charoen province and will not respond further, as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, as leader of the Bhumjaithai Party, has already said everything. She added that she will not be fooled by the opposition's attempts to take the matter to court, believing that those who have wronged her will not be able to sleep soundly. Regarding Mr. Yingcheep's recent admission on a popular TV program that he had no evidence, photographs, or video clips, only witness statements, in order to pressure the opposition into an investigation, Ms. Suksomruay stated that this was an irresponsible statement. Even if he tries to defend himself later, it cannot negate the offense, as it has already been committed.
