Bangkok: The Secretary-General of the Community Development Bank, "Suksomruay," is exerting pressure on the bank to finalize the distribution of a 3.4 billion baht budget to villagers by 2026.
According to Thai News Agency, Suksomruay has directed the Village Fund to reallocate the unspent budget from the Yingluck administration, which had been previously diverted to the Pracharath and Cow Million Projects, to support Village Fund activities.
Ms. Sukhsomruay Wantaniyakul, the Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, led a meeting of the National Village and Urban Community Fund Committee. She highlighted that during Yingluck Shinawatra's administration in 2012, an additional one million baht was approved for each village. However, approximately 8 billion baht remained and was used for other projects. The current remaining balance is estimated at around 3.4 billion baht. She has instructed the secretariat to review the fund and ensure the distribution of the 3.4 billion baht to eligible villages, with a completion target set for 2026.
