Suriya Resumes Duties in Udon Thani After Hospital Discharge

Udon thani: Suriya Jungrungruangkit, Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his mission in Udon Thani. He had collapsed last night due to fatigue while on duty in the province.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kritchanon Aiyapanya, spokesman for the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, stated that Mr. Suriya experienced fatigue and fainted while working in Udon Thani. He was admitted to a local hospital, where doctors monitored his condition. After recovering, he was discharged this morning.

A spokesperson from the ministry revealed that Mr. Suriya had been actively fulfilling his duties, including a recent visit to Chanthaburi Province to assess the fruit and agricultural situation. Despite developing cold-like symptoms earlier in the week, he continued to work without rest, leading to his collapse from accumulated fatigue.

Post-discharge, Mr. Suriya attended the ordination ceremony of Mr. Rachen Silapraya, a former Director-General of the Department of Royal Rainmaking and Agricultural Aviation. He is now heading to the Ban Sam Phrao irrigation project in Mueang Udon Thani District to assess the water situation and engage with local communities.

In the afternoon, Mr. Kritchanon is expected to visit the Nong Dae Wetland area to check on preparations for the 2026 Udon Thani International Horticultural Exposition. Despite medical advice to rest, Mr. Suriya remains focused on his responsibilities, particularly regarding water management and ministry projects.
