Narathiwat: The flood situation in Narathiwat Province is showing signs of improvement as water levels continue to decline. However, Tak Bai District remains critically affected, with floodwaters averaging about one meter in height. According to Thai News Agency, despite recent rainfall across all 13 districts of the province, the precipitation was not heavy enough to worsen the existing flood conditions. Inspections of the Golok River revealed that water levels in Su-ngai Kolok District have decreased to the level of the riverbanks, with only a few isolated areas still affected. This has allowed some residents to begin cleaning their homes. Tak Bai District remains a significant concern as it continues to experience severe flooding due to its geographical position, which causes it to receive large volumes of water flowing into the estuary. Authorities are actively assisting residents in the affected areas. The Narathiwat Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office has reported that floods persist in four di stricts: Tak Bai, Su-ngai Kolok, Cho Airong, and Mueang Narathiwat. The flooding spans 16 sub-districts and 64 villages, impacting over 358,000 people, resulting in four fatalities, and causing damage to 3,716 rai of agricultural land.
