Teen Motorcycle Chase in Samut Prakan Ends in Serious Injuries

Samut prakan: A chaotic motorcycle chase in Samut Prakan resulted in serious injuries for two teenagers after a high-speed pursuit ended in a crash involving multiple vehicles.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident unfolded when a group of four or five teenagers, riding on two motorcycles, chased another group of teenagers through the streets. The fleeing group, consisting of a 14-year-old boy and his friend, attempted to escape through Soi Wat Dan Samrong 54. However, the chase ended abruptly when the fleeing motorcycle lost control and collided with a motorcycle taxi coming from the opposite direction. Both vehicles then slid into a motorcycle with a sidecar, which was being used by a vendor to sell squid.

CCTV footage revealed the intensity of the pursuit, capturing the moment the teenagers, without hesitation, rode in the wrong direction, leading to the disastrous crash. The two 14-year-olds who fell from their motorcycle were left seriously injured and unconscious, with one sustaining a deep facial wound, likely from a sharp object.

Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, where police and rescue workers assessed the situation. While the injured were given first aid and transported to a hospital, the group responsible for the chase managed to escape amidst the confusion.

A motorcycle taxi driver involved in the crash recounted how he witnessed the teenagers speeding down the road, chasing one another. The pursued motorcycle hit his vehicle, causing him to fall. Fortunately, he only suffered minor injuries in the incident.

Another 14-year-old, a friend of the injured boy, provided details of the events leading up to the crash. He explained that they were attacked by a rival group wielding knives, who chased them from Soi Sri Dan 3. As they attempted to evade the attackers by splitting up, his friend was targeted and forced to swerve, resulting in the loss of control and subsequent crash. He noted that the attackers were known to them due to a previous altercation.

Mr. Sukhi, a 30-year-old vendor who was caught up in the crash, shared his experience. He was returning from the market when the teenage motorcycle collided with the motorcycle taxi and then into his sidecar. Fortunately, Mr. Sukhi escaped uninjured but was shaken by the incident.
