Rayong: The body of a temple worker from a renowned temple in Rayong was discovered shot dead alongside a young woman in his residence. It is believed that the two had been deceased for approximately three days, prompting an investigation by local authorities into the cause of their deaths. According to Thai News Agency, police from Plaeng Daeng Police Station, Rayong Province, alongside relevant officers, scrutinized the scene at a single-story house located in a housing estate in Tambon Map Yang Phon, Amphoe Plaeng Daeng. Within the bedroom, the bodies of a man and a woman were found, each bearing gunshot wounds. The woman, identified as Ms. Patcharin, 30, was found lying face up on the bed, having sustained a gunshot wound to the back of her head. The man, Mr. Sittirat, 32, a disciple of a prominent monk and temple treasurer at a well-known temple in the province, was found face up on the floor at the foot of the bed with a gunshot wound through his left temple. A magazine-loaded handgun was recovered fr om the bed, containing seven bullets and two spent casings. A bullet hole was noted in the mirror adjacent to the bedroom wall, with the bullet found at the house's front door, later collected by officers as evidence. Neighbors reported hearing two gunshots from the residence on the night of November 2nd but initially dismissed the sounds, not anticipating any serious incident. They mentioned being unfamiliar with the deceased individuals, who had recently moved into the area. Observations were made of one to two men frequently visiting the house before the incident. Authorities have yet to determine if the deaths were self-inflicted or if a third party was involved. Mr. Sittirat was known to have a family prior to his relationship with Ms. Patcharin, who was described as an attractive young woman. Neighbor testimonies suggest that Ms. Patcharin might have had multiple male suitors, raising suspicions about a possible love triangle or jealousy-driven motive. Ms. Tuk, Mr. Sittirat's wife, informed the polic e that her husband had been missing for four days before learning of his death. She also received a mysterious call from a woman claiming her husband was with her, unbeknownst to Ms. Tuk that he had secretly moved into the house. Police continue to gather information from those close to the deceased to uncover the true circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
