Tensions Escalate at Trat Province Border with Clashes in Hat Lek and Koh Kong

Trat: The border in Trat province is tense, with a new battlefront erupting in Hat Lek and Koh Kong. The Trat border has been volatile since early morning, with a new front emerging in the Hat Lek area. Residents on both sides are urgently evacuating their belongings.

According to Thai News Agency, this is footage from Koh Kong Province in Cambodia, where the sounds of clashes can be clearly heard. Since 2:00 AM, the Thai side has fired more than 10 artillery rounds at targets in the Koh Yo area. This followed an attempt by Cambodian forces to attack a Thai naval vessel, prompting an immediate retaliatory strike from the sea. The attack targeted four Cambodian artillery bases located in Koh Yo, near Ban Pak Khlong, Koh Kong Province. As a result, residents of Ban Pak Khlong were forced to evacuate, causing traffic congestion stretching for several kilometers.

On the Thai side, along Sukhumvit Road (Highway 3) (Trat-Klong Yai), vehicles were continuously heading towards Trat city, especially around Ban Chamrak intersection. Residents were seen loading their vehicles with household goods and continuing to travel through the area.
