Bangkok: The Ministry of Finance is urging citizens to fully utilize their 1,000 baht entitlement under the "Thai Helps Thai Plus" program, as only a few days remain in its first month. This initiative, which commenced in June 2026, is designed to support citizens by covering 60 percent of their expenditures on food, beverages, goods, and specified public services.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Vinit Visetsuwannapoom, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, provided an update on the progress of the initiative. The "Thai Helps Thai Plus" project, which runs from June to September 2026, involves 26,040,623 eligible participants. As of June 23, 2026, the program's total spending reached 38,917 million baht. This amount is divided into public spending of 16,490 million baht, with 16,186 million spent at general stores and 304 million through food delivery platforms. The government contributed 22,427 million baht, including 22,040 million at general stores and 387 million through food delivery platforms.
A total of 1,163,823 businesses have signed up to accept benefits under this scheme, including 100,961 restaurants and beverage establishments that facilitate payments through food delivery platforms. The Ministry of Finance noted that 7.59 million people, or 29.15 percent of eligible recipients, have already used their full allowance for June. The Ministry stresses the importance of utilizing the full 1,000 baht entitlement by the deadline of June 30, 2026, as unused funds will not roll over into the next month's allowance.
