Bangkok: The government continues to alleviate the cost of living for the public by driving forward the "Thai Helps Thai, Reduce the Burden, Reduce the Cost of Living" sales campaign. The results of six previous events have generated over 86 million baht in revenue, helping to reduce the cost of living by more than 15 million baht.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ploytalay Laksmisangchan, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government, through the Department of Provincial Administration, Ministry of Interior, in collaboration with the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, is continuing its policy to alleviate the burden of living costs for the public through the "Thai Helps Thai" sales campaign, Phase 2, event number 6, covering 878 districts nationwide. This aims to increase opportunities for people to access quality products at affordable prices, while simultaneously stimulating the grassroots economy and generating income within communities.
The 6th event received a positive response from over 140,000 people, generating over 13.24 million baht in revenue and helping people reduce their expenses by over 2.17 million baht. Throughout all six events, continuous public participation has generated a total of over 86.56 million baht in revenue and helped reduce the cost of living for people by over 15.02 million baht. This reflects the success of the cooperation from all sectors in bringing quality products at affordable prices directly to the public, stimulating spending, and strengthening the grassroots economy in all areas, Ms. Ploytalee stated.
Ms. Ploytalee further stated that the government will continue to integrate cooperation with all sectors to drive the "Thai Helps Thai: Reduce the Burden, Lower the Cost of Living" campaign as a key mechanism to help reduce the cost of living for the public, stimulate the grassroots economy, and create opportunities for entrepreneurs in the area. The campaign will continue until September 2026, and people nationwide are invited to follow and participate to jointly drive community economic development, create economic circulation in the area, and alleviate the burden of living costs for Thai households.
