Nakhon ratchasima: Crowds flocked to Krung Thai Bank, using shoes and baskets to reserve their spots for registration and identity verification. On the second day of the "Thai Help Thai Plus" program, in many provinces, people, especially the elderly, flocked to Krung Thai Bank branches from early morning to register and verify their identity. Some even used shoes, baskets, and water bottles to reserve their place in line. Meanwhile, the latest update shows only 5.5 million remaining slots available.
According to Thai News Agency, the atmosphere at the Krung Thai Bank branch in Dan Khun Thod District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, was bustling with villagers queuing to register and verify their identity for the project. Some had been waiting since 4:00 AM. Villagers were seen using shoes, personal items like water bottles, or even betel nut baskets to mark their place in line. Meanwhile, they sought shade, rested, and ate nearby while waiting for the bank to open at 7:30 AM. During the queue calling, an argument arose regarding the shoes being used as collateral, with some claiming they were temporarily worn or were of a similar nature, causing confusion.
Villagers, mostly elderly, complained about the situation, saying they had to wake up early to queue in hopes of being eligible for the program. However, the process was complicated and difficult. They wanted to suggest that the government should distribute the funds based on available information, similar to the elderly allowance.
It's the same situation! People lined up in long queues in front of Krung Thai Bank branches in Mueang Kamphaeng Phet district. Despite the long lines and crowds, most people remained patiently waiting with hope. Bank staff were prepared to provide services and ensure a smooth queueing process. Queue cards and forms were distributed for people to fill out, aiming to expedite the process and reduce crowding. Only 50 people were allowed in at a time. Most people expressed their hope and determination to participate in this round of the program, hoping to use their benefits to alleviate the burden of living expenses and daily family spending.
Latest update as of 10:30 AM: 5.5 million remaining entitlements are available. Citizens can still register for these entitlements until May 29th, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, or until the 30 million entitlements limit is reached, whichever comes first. A total of 990,036 shops have registered, including 12,740 new shops. For those awaiting confirmation within 3 days, the Ministry of Finance assures you there is no need to worry as entitlements have been reserved for you once your confirmation is successful.
