Bangkok: The "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" program has experienced a remarkable start, with over 14 million people taking advantage of its offerings, resulting in a spending surge that has surpassed 4.5 billion baht in just two days. The program is designed to provide subsidies, including for BTS and MRT travel expenses.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Ratchada Thanadirek, Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, reported that public spending has been active since the program's launch. As of June 2, 2026, at 11:00 PM, the cumulative spending reached 4,542.08 million baht. A total of 14,402,305 individuals have successfully utilized their benefits, and 792,045 merchants have completed transactions under the program.
The program also includes public transportation services that may not be widely recognized by the public. Participants can use the benefits on eight electric train lines: MRT Purple Line, MRT Blue Line, MRT Pink Line, MRT Yellow Line, BTS Green Line, BTS Gold Line, Red Line Skytrain, and Airport Rail Link. Additionally, BMTA buses, Chao Phraya Express Boats, and intercity buses are included in the program.
The spokesperson reiterated the importance of adhering to the program's terms and conditions. Benefits under the "Thai Helps Thai Plus 60/40" project must be used for purchasing goods and services at the stated value. Merchants are strictly prohibited from providing change or exchanging benefits for cash. Violations will lead to the suspension of the merchant's participation and revocation of government subsidies. The public and businesses must comply with these rules to ensure the cost-of-living relief measures effectively benefit the public and the economy, aligning with the project's goal of "Thai Helps Thai."
