Beijing: Their Majesties King Maha Vajiralongkorn and Queen Suthida continued their official state visit to China, covering a range of diplomatic and cultural engagements from November 13 to 17.
According to Thai News Agency, on the evening of November 14, 2025, the royal couple attended a formal state dinner hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People. The next day, November 15, they participated in a wreath-laying ceremony at the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tiananmen Square, following a traditional custom for visiting Heads of State.
The King and Queen later visited the historic Lingguang Temple in Beijing, where they paid homage to a sacred Buddhist relic, the Buddha’s tooth. This relic is one of only two believed to exist in the world. During their visit, Their Majesties first paid respects in the Yuantong Hall to a large Thai-style gilt-bronze Buddha image, which was presented by a former Supreme Patriarch of Thailand in 1990, symbolizing the enduring Buddhist ties between Thailand and China.
Their homage to the tooth relic at the pagoda base highlighted the deep spiritual and diplomatic friendship between the two nations. The relic has been temporarily sent to Thailand on two previous occasions for public veneration, further demonstrating the strong cultural connection shared by the two countries.
