Thai men’s and women’s 4-a-side Sepak Takraw team advances to semi-finals of World Championship

The Thai men's 4-a-side sepak takraw team defeated Vietnam 2-0, while the women's team defeated South Korea, both advancing to the semi-finals in the 2024 Sepak Takraw World Championship in Korat. Sepak takraw World Championship 2024, the 37th King's Cup, at Terminal Hall 21, Nakhon Ratchasima, in the men's 4-a-side Sepak takraw category, Premier Division, Group B, the last match, the Thai national team met the Vietnamese national team. Both teams have won 2 consecutive matches and have entered the semi-finals to compete for 1st place in the group. Thailand sent Porntep Tinbangbon, Kritsanapong Nontakoht, Saenkai Daoruang, and Ratchan Wiphan onto the field, with Seksan Thabthong and Thaweesak Thongsai as substitutes. The Thai young sepak takraw team coordinated excellently, defeating Vietnam 2-0 sets 15-8, 15-7, winning 3 consecutive matches and entering the semi-finals as the champion of Group B. In the semi-finals, they will meet South Korea, the 2nd place team of Group A today. The Thai women's team pla yed their second match of the Premier Division Group B group stage against South Korea, who were playing their third match after winning two matches in a row. In this match, Thailand sent Mallika Boontod, Primprapa Kaewkamsai, Samrudee Prueprak, and Sirinan Kheawpak to alternate with Prueksa Maneewong and Wipada Chitpruan, who were reserve players in the blue uniform. In the beginning, the South Korean team performed better and led the Thai team, but the Thai team regained their balance and came back to win 2-0 sets 15-12 and 15-13, making Thailand's second straight win.
