Bangkok: The military has stressed that credibility should not be gauged by rhetoric or daily counter-arguments, but by adherence to the ceasefire agreement. Air Chief Marshal Praphas Sonjaidee, Director of the Thai-Cambodian Situation Information Center, outlined Thailand's stance on the dissemination of information regarding Thai-Cambodian issues.
According to Thai News Agency, Air Chief Marshal Sonjaidee emphasized Thailand's commitment to peaceful resolutions, mutual respect, and adherence to agreements made with Cambodia. He clarified that Thailand has no intention of reacting to every statement or piece of information spread through media and social platforms, as such rhetorical competition does not solve problems and could erode mutual trust.
Thailand is focused on upholding joint statements and agreements, as trust is a result of actions, not words. Therefore, all parties are urged to adhere to these joint statements, reduce provocations, and avoid spreading information that could lead to misunderstanding or division. This approach aims to maintain an atmosphere conducive to negotiation and peaceful resolution.
The country is ready to engage in constructive discussions using all available bilateral, diplomatic, and cooperation mechanisms. These discussions aim to resolve issues based on facts, international law, and mutual respect, while safeguarding national rights, sovereignty, and interests within the framework of international law. Thai citizens are encouraged to approach information critically and remain vigilant against misinformation and fake news.
