Bangkok: The Ministry of Culture hosted a press conference to announce the upcoming Thai classical music performance by senior teachers of the Rattanakosin era, which will be held in honor of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn in 2026. The event aims to celebrate the musical prowess and contributions of the Princess.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Sabida Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, delegated Mr. Prasop Riangngern, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, to lead the conference. The event will feature renowned figures such as Ms. Yutika Isarangkun Na Ayutthaya, Director-General of the Department of Cultural Promotion, and national artists like Kru Tasanee Khunthong, Kru Pip Konglaithong, and others. The gathering at the Thailand Cultural Centre included cultural networks, media representatives, and distinguished guests.
Mr. Prasop Riangngern emphasized the performance's goal of highlighting Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's exemplary role in preserving Thai classical music, a significant aspect of national identity. This year, the event will not only celebrate her musical talents but also mark her 71st birthday on April 2, 2026, by involving various sectors of society in the festivities.
