Thai National Team Prepares Intensively for Crucial Asian Cup Qualifier Against Turkmenistan

Pathum thani: The Thai national football team, known as "Chang???" (War Elephants), is undergoing rigorous training in anticipation of their upcoming match against Turkmenistan in the 2027 Asian Cup.

According to Thai News Agency, the team conducted its first training session at BGPU Training Center 3 in Pathum Thani province. This session is crucial as the team prepares for their sixth match in Group D of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers, set to take place at Rajamangala National Stadium on March 31st.

During the training, head coach Anthony Hudson emphasized enhancing team cohesion both offensively and defensively while focusing on tactical strategies. The session spanned two hours, reflecting the team's commitment to securing a victory.

Midfielder Thanawat Suengjitthaworn from Ratchaburi FC expressed his enthusiasm about being selected for the national team. He stated his determination to win and advance to the Asian Cup, acknowledging the challenge posed by Turkmenistan, who had previously defeated them 3-1. However, he remains optimistic about a home victory and urges fans to support the team at the stadium.

Similarly, Ikhlas Sanharn, a midfielder from PT Prachuap FC, shared his experience of working with Coach Hudson and noted the intensity and dedication present in the training sessions. He expects a challenging match against Turkmenistan, who are also vying for advancement, but remains hopeful that playing at home will lead to a victory.
