Thai Stock Market Reaches 50-Month High Amidst Increased Foreign Investments

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chatchai Thissadoldilok, Assistant Manager and Head of Research at SET, highlighted that the Thai stock market remained resilient in the face of global technology stock corrections. This resilience is attributed to the diverse composition of Thailand's market sectors and strong supporting fundamentals, such as the upward revision of the country's economic growth forecast for 2026 by the Ministry of Finance from 1.6% to 2.5%. Additionally, earnings forecasts for Thai listed companies have been revised upwards. The resources and financial sectors outperformed other sectors in July, while technology and industrial goods sectors have led the market year-to-date.

Government policies promoting investment and increased private sector activity point to robust foreign direct investment, positioning the SET as increasingly attractive with the potential to reach 1,700 points. Mr. Kongsiri anticipates improved economic growth and stressed the importance of monitoring the progress of the Economic and Social Development Council (ESSC).
