Bangkok: Thai swimmers celebrated a significant achievement at the SEA Games swimming competition held at the Sports Authority of Thailand swimming pool. In a thrilling final, the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay team, comprising Jinjuda Pholjaemjaras, Maria Neddelka, Kamonchanok Khwanmuang, and Napaswan Charitkla, secured the gold medal with a time of 8 minutes 10.10 seconds. This victory marked the fourth gold for the Thai swimming team at this year’s SEA Games. The Philippines and Vietnam claimed the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
According to Thai News Agency, the competition also saw an impressive performance from the youngest swimmer at the SEA Games, 13-year-old Pimchanok Chinveerapan. She earned a silver medal in the women’s 200m breaststroke, clocking in at 2 minutes 31.50 seconds, marking her first SEA Games medal. Letitia Sim of Singapore won the gold with a personal best of 2 minutes 27.37 seconds, while Adelia of Indonesia took the bronze. Another Thai swimmer, Piangkhwan Pawapotako, finished just outside the podium in fourth place.
After five days of competition, the Thai swimming team has achieved a total of 4 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals, showcasing their prowess in the pool.
