Ulaanbaatar: Thai taekwondo poomsae fighters clinched 2 gold and 2 silver medals to conclude the Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships. The 9th Asian Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on May 20, 2026, concluded with Thai athletes winning another 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals.
According to Thai News Agency, the Thai national Poomsae team showcased impressive performances. The Men's Poomsae Team, consisting of Natthachai Sutha, Thana Khiaolailert, and Sippakorn Wechkorpativong, secured a gold medal. The Freestyle Mixed Team, featuring Ratchapol Yaibua, Suwapich Sirisinrungruang, Achariya Kerkkaew, Watcharakul Limjitrakorn, Sarisa Thaitonglang, and Sasipha Chuphol, also claimed gold.
Thai competitors continued their success with silver medals. The Women's Poomsae Team, made up of Chonlakorn Chayawatdho, Chutikarn Lapnitayaphan, and Ratchadawan Tapianthong, earned a silver medal. In the Freestyle Mixed Doubles, Navin Pindasut and Thitaree Kaewolarawas also took home silver.
In total, the Thai national Poomsae team achieved 2 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 1 bronze medal. The sparring (Kyorugi) competition is scheduled to take place from May 21-24, continuing the excitement at the championships.
